- We currently have about 200 members distributed across most of the 25 ringable guild towers.
- We are fortunate that this means there are, in theory, enough ringers to ring all the bells in Guild towers.
- We are always keen to recruit new ringers. Get in touch if you are interested or know someone who is.
- The minimum qualification for Ringing Membership is to be able to handle a bell and ring rounds competently.

The Guild can offer you the opportunity to further your ringing, to ring and socialise with other members and to take part in the regular events we organise. By joining you are supporting the work of the Bell Restoration Fund which provides grants to towers needing work. You also receive a membership certificate and a free copy of the Annual Report.
How to join?
New members are elected at any of our Business Meetings (usually held in January, April/May). New members are usually proposed by their Tower Captain and, by way of introduction, we hope that you would both be at your election meeting.
When ringing at other towers it is customary to leave a donation to cover some of the costs of your visit. When the Guild visits a tower as part of one of its calendar of events you may be asked for a donation. This will be given to the tower on your behalf. Alternatively please consider leaving a donation in the tower.
When ringing peals rung for the Society it is customary to leave a donation to the tower. Many towers specify an amount, others leave it to the discretion of the band. For a Peal to be attributed to the Guild and appear in the Annual Report, each member of the band must contribute £0.50 to be collected by the conductor. All members of the band must be Guild members. Non resident members can be elected at the time through a belfry election which is to be ratified at a subsequent business meeting.
A completed Membership Form should be forwarded to the secretary at the election meeting together with the appropriate subscription.
