Getting there:

The A66, A595, A594 and A5086 converge at Cockermouth. Although the Spire is clearly visible from many parts of the town, getting to it requires a little local knowledge. Following the Town Centre directions from any of the main approach routes should hopefully bring you to a mini roundabout next to Wordsworth House. Continue along the Main Street, over the bridge over the river Cocker. Turn right into Market Place and immediately right into a ‘pay and display’ car park.

Parking:

Parking is available to the left and right of the entrance. They can get busy at weekends. The church is situated above the car parks.

Access:

The tower access is on the north side of the church. A spiral staircase on the northwest corner of the west trancept leads to a short  external walkway at roof level. A short open flight of steps takes you to the rining room door on the north side of the tower. Care is needed when crossing the open section in wet and windy conditions.

Toilets:

None at the church.

Public toilets in car park; restricted opening times
