Limited space at the church. Plenty of parking available in the village.
Enter the church through the south door. The spiral staircase to the ringing gallery is through the wooden partition below the gallery.
In the church, next to the tower steps.
For many years Orton bells were unavailable until in 2012 a ringing gallery was installed in the tower. The arch into the church is glazed and the ringers can be seen from the body of the church. The bells were overhauled and restored for ringing and snce then they have been rung once a month on the morning of the Farmers’ Market in Orton which is always the second Saturday in the month. Ringing is from 10.00 to 12.00. This is a great opportunity to promote ringing to both locals and to the many visitors to the market who can buy tea, coffee, biscuits and home made scones in the church – and both hear and see the bells being rung.
