cathbellaThe CDGCBR represents church bell ringers around the Lake District in north, west, and east Cumbria and parts of the Furness peninsula.

In the Guild there are around 200 members who come from  25 towers.

St Bridget’s Bridekirk open afternoon

What an afternoon! Despite all our best efforts the day clashed yet again with the parish school summer fayre.  The local Cockermouth/Bridekirk band was not put off and enthusiastically came to the tower ready to offer a fun filled afternoon.


Cumbrian young people involved in national contest

Five Cumbria-based young ringers made the trip down Exeter on the first weekend in July to participate in the Ringing World National Youth Contest.

British Empire Medal awarded to Ron East

Congratulations to Ron East, who has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in June’s Jubilee Birthday Honours for services to bellringing and church bell conservation in Cumbria.
Ron has completed 130 projects


58 visitors on Greystoke tower open day

The Open Day at Greystoke has been a great success with 58 visitors to the tower.
